Movember Contest Winners Reveal – Vlog Style
Who vlogs on a blog? Boundary pushers. Free thinkers. Entrepreneurs. Imbeciles. Me.
Before you click play I have a few last words. I intended for the vlog to be more professional. I wanted it to have more jokes and music. I also wanted it to be highly pixelated and choppy at some points, because that is considered arty. I wanted it to be arty.
Just kidding. I lost “my” internet connection after the first recording session and had to resort to recording the last few bits on my Iphone. That may be pathetic, and I probably just gave you all a reason to label me as cheap, but I see this as a courageous move. I could have quit and left you all hanging. I could have thrown my computer off of the third story balcony. But I didn’t, so here is what resulted. It went okay.
That move was for you Billy Zane Aneroidocean. Did you really think I was going to put on my tutu?

I assume that would take Tim quite some time, and then he wouldn’t be able to go drunk fountain splashing with me. So we can’t do that. Congrats to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated. As if I haven’t said it enough.
Also, I added the page I spoke about at the top of my blog titled “Movember 2012″. I will be working on the blurbs about the winners to complete that page. In the meantime, everyone can go read an end of Movember post by Emily of The Waiting over at ACOF.

Hmm, I’m not sure if I commented on this bad boy yet. BUT The vlog was fresh to death. I like being able to put an actual voice to a blog. I think it makes humor blogs even funnier since I can read it in the blogger’s voice. Hmmm, now I’m not sure if I’ve directly spoke in any of my ‘vlogs’ I will have to check!

Becca, you’re adorable! I love your accent. That was perfect. I loved the ballerina move in the middle.
A few people say they didn’t hear any accent. I am glad you liked it! The turn in the middle was at aneroidocean’s request for winning the guessing game from the other day. That lead to me getting side tracked for about thirty minutes practicing my moves. I haven’t danced “professionally” in four years!

i wish you could have seen how i was smiling through all that. maybe it’s because i’m so old and i grew up with rotary phones and mailing letters, and now it’s writing to someone on the other side of the world and then seeing them do a video thing like that. dunno, just me i guess, but it was cool. did NOT expect you voice to be so high-pitched like that, likely influenced by the previous post in which you were packing heat and just “packing.” if i didn’t see the video and someone said, “hey, listen to this 13- year old girl,” i’d have believed it. then again, when i call customer service, they usually say, “hold on ma’am and i’ll transfer you.” so voices aren’t reflective of anything. oh, and thanks for the crotch shot.
I had a feeling you would appreciate this the most. Isn’t it funny what we can infer from photos, but how seeing body language and hearing voices can shape how you perceive someone so much more? I think the communication opportunities we have today are still mind blowing to me too. It’s not just you.

You didn’t look super tall in your video once upon a time. I could see where you may sound… off…. on the phone though. Hasn’t seemed to hold you back in certain areas of life though

5’6″ is girl territory. no offense. i think on the phone i sound like one of those 50-year old women who’s been smoking since she was 12. in that respect, yeah, i might sound female. as for certain areas of life, maybe i think my lack of height makes me more “cute” and non-threatening, and perfect for someone take home for a night.

Everyone will think that. I get it all the time in real life. I swear I really live in Loooosiana though! I suppose it is the result of my parents having both grown up as army brats. They never picked up one specific accent while moving around all of the time, thus neither did I. I have a few words that flare up the twang, but that’s usually only after plenty of alcohol.
